About the attraction

Buzz Lightyear’s Astro Blasters is both a ride and a game! It is a dark, slow-moving ride, with some spinning and loads of fun. Spin your vehicle to face different areas, to make earning points harder for your opponent, or to get a better shot yourself.

Note that if you or someone in your party is sensitive to loud noises, this may not be a good fit for them.

The shortest lines for this attraction are often during the fireworks show.

The ride is approximately 5 minutes long and each vehicle seats two to three people. With the exception of the accessible vehicle which only has space for a wheelchair and one other guest.

Wheelchair, ECV, and Service Animals

Enter via the standard queue. The queue, even when extended for longer lines, is totally wheelchair friendly. There is a slight incline and decline in the queue when extended, but other than that it is smooth and flat until you reach the end where there is a steeper incline. It shouldn’t be a problem if you have the strength to get around in a wheelchair without assistance. At the top of the ramp is where the able-bodied guests enter the ride.

Wheelchairs continue on through a door. Just a little heads up the door is a tad bit heavy for me and does make entering it a little difficult. One other thing to be aware of is that when you open the door you will find yourself in the exit, dodging every person as they leave. I have had some guests end up on my lap. The exiting guests rarely notice me because they are still looking at the ground. This is because the walkway to enter and exit the ride vehicles is moving.

Once across the sea of exiting guests, a cast member will show you where to leave your wheelchair and let you know which vehicle to board. They will either slow or stop the moving walkway depending on your needs. Note that cast members are required to stop the moving walkway for guests with service animals. If they do not offer to stop it, ask and they will honor
your request.

There is also a wheelchair accessible vehicle if needed, however, if you are using an ECV you will need to transfer to a wheelchair that is provided at this attraction.

The Queue

The queue is partly outdoors and is ADA compliant. We had no issues pushing a wheelchair through it. However, be warned that there is an incline at the end of the queue leading to the loading area which may add difficulty to going up unassisted.
